The prop firm will assess the trader’s ability, most commonly via an evaluation in which the trader must meet a set profit target on a simulated trading account. Once the firm is satisfied that the trader has successfully met this target, funded account with simulated funds will be provided by the firm, with an agreed gain split between the two parties. As long as the trading remains profitable and above the maximum drawdown level, the partnership can be maintained and scaled up.
